Albertson's is being sold

This just came out on KSL.com. There are 36 Utah Albertson's being sold to Associated Foods. The only stores not affected will be in St. George. I am so sad about this. We have all been benefiting from all the great deals at Albies. Associated Food doesn't participate in the Catalina program and they have higher shelf prices and really try and only promote the western family brand. This will take affect this fall so I guess we should all really get all the good deals we can and build up our food storage to full capacity until then. There will still be some good deals out there but I'm afraid it just won't be the same.

No More Red Plum?

Yep, it's true, the Red Plum insert is being taken out of the Utah papers. There are a lot of good coupons in there that we all use. Please go to PinchingYourPennies.com and go on the forum for this and there is a link you can complain. The more people who do this the more they will see how many people disagree with this decision.

Doubler Deals at Albies

There are more doublers that came in the mail yesterday (tues) on your Albertson's flyer. There are also some in your redplum insert that you would have gotten on Sunday. That makes for a lot of doublers to use this week at Albies. Here are some ideas on what to do as you can only use 3 per shopping trip:

Albertson's deals starting tomorrow

Here's a list of sweet deals on sale this week at Albertson's this week. Right Guard sport deodorant. Sale price $1.00. Cpn $1/2 SS 5/17. If doublers come in this Sunday's paper it will make these FREE.
Kelloggs cereal (jumbo krispies, rice krispies, little bites minnie wheats, blueberry muffin mini wheats, and special K).
They are all on sale for $2.50 There's a cpn for $1/1 RP 6/7. The promo is if you buy 3 you get $2.50 off. This makes each box $.67 when you buy 3. If doublers come out on sunday you will get these for FREE as well.

They are also having their Epic mix and max sale for the secod week in a row. This is a similar list as last week with a few things missing and others added. You will want to check out the list as there are too many to list here. You have to buy 10 items and you get $5.00 off at the register. Kelloggs Frosted Flakes are on there again. They are on sale for $1.99. cpn $1.50/1 RP 6/7. This makes them FREE with the promo. You will have to make sure you buy other things from the list to add up to 10 items. Starkist Chunk light tuna pouches 2.7 oz are on there. They are on sale for $1.25 which would make them $.75 if you added them to the Promo. There is also a CAT where if you buy 5 you get a $1.00 cat.

I'm Back

Sorry to everybody for taking a little breather from this. It has been a crazy summer already. I'm sure most of you can relate. I just got back from a week at our cabin then everybody in the family got sick (not just a cold, the throwing up kind of sick, and it was like a domino's affect. Not all on the same day but each day a new kid got sick, Dad is included in "one of the kids"). But, I am back on track and there are some really great deals out there this coming week. I hope all of you got some of the good deals last week. If any of you have some screaming deals you want to share please do so as I am sure what I buy is not what everybody else would buy. Albertson's is continually putting their doublers coupons in the paper most weeks so it is fun to see what kind of screaming deals we can all get with those. My kids think I am nuts because since I take 5 papers and my mother-in-law gives me her doublers and her inserts I have a total 18 doublers. Since you can only use 3 per shopping trip I go into the store and back to the car 6 different times and they sit there in the car and watch me, each taking a turn to go with me. They still don't get why I do it but they know I get excited with how much money I am saving.
